Another Week at the Lindsays

This week the girls worked on their outfits for the YW leadership training over-nighter scheduled for Friday night. Thursday I made Rhaevyn's cape with hood. She was Raven, a superhero from Teen Titans. Then she helped put Aeva's outfit together. Aeva went as Gambit from X-men. I think they had a good time. They went to a cabin (more like a luxurious home) about an hour and a half away. They played games, went on a hike, and learned how to do all those wonderful things you do in callings (lead).

Ben came down Saturday to go to a VW bug show with Chris. We were happy he agreed to stay for dinner, and Myles plastered himself to the door in hopes that it would prevent him from going home. Myles was happy to have had some Lego time with Ben. We missed Stacey :(

Myles helped me clear the back patio, set up chairs, and a table while Elsa took Meg for a ride around the yard in her stroller and told her a story. Then we made lunch. Myles and Elsa enjoyed eating outside. The time with just the four of us was finished off with side walk chalk drawings.

This is Rhaevyn's last week of seminary. I am so impressed with her. She has finished memorizing all the scriptures for scripture mastery and finished reading the Book of Mormon. I was never that dedicated. I pretty much showed up to early morning seminary and that was it. I loved doing devotionals as well as to socialize. She is going to miss seminary, but I won't lie, I will be glad to sleep in and not be up at 5:50 am.................at least for a few months anyway.

Aeva has survived her first week with braces. Yay!!

Here are a few pictures of Meg.

I love this picture. She often sleeps holding at least one of her feet.

 Loved this this morning............

so I had to take a picture.

And I did Rhaevyn's hair this morning. Not the bun I wanted to make, but the rope twist one was not working out. Sitting and doing her hair reminds me of when she was little and I would sit and do her hair.

Here we are in June already. Before I know it July will be here, Myles will be turning eight and getting ready for his baptism and cub scouts. Time needs to put the breaks on a bit!

New Dessert and A Bit More

So, I've found a few new recipes that I am going to try this week.
I went ahead and tried a new dessert the other night....Berries and Cream Trifle. I think the cream part I can use to make something similar to Christopher's annual dessert I buy for his birthday.............Strawberry Bavarian Cream pie. I shall see how that turns out.
The trifle was delicious! Loads of berries with some creamy filling and angel food cake. Mmmmmm!

Aeva got her braces on Thursday. We bought her lots of soft foods, and she is doing good so far. She even managed a hamburger patty last night cut up very small. Poor thing cannot touch her molars together so chewing is out of the question. While I demonstrated how to use the floss in which you thread, I got it stuck in between my teeth. Took me a while to finally get it unstuck. Poor Elsa was hysterical thinking I'd have it stuck in between my teeth forever.

Anyway, Aeva picked out hot pink and green glow in the dark bands, and she is very happy to have braces :)

Our new Walmart opened up in town. We went and perused it. While there we ran into a sweet friend whose girls have all watched my kids at one time or another. She stole Myles for the day, and he was royally spoiled. Just Myles time is what he had, and he was in heaven. He has talked of little else. He came back with a little fishbowl, and I gave in to parent pressure (lol).
He is the proud ownder of a baby tetra. It is on it's third name..................
Partially, Feceous, and now Fuzious. Myles decided against the second name as we all told him it sounded like Feces. It is very cute watching him take care of his little fish.

Infused water for the week.......................Orange and Mint.
I am going back to the piniapple, as Chris keeps telling me how much he liked that one.

Lastly, two selfies..................Meg and Me!

She has started to reach out for Chris and I when we put our arms out to pick her up.
She definitely melts our hearts, and I am not sure I've seen a baby so loved. She is rocked, held, snuggled, hugged, and kissed pretty much all day long. It is pure joy to watch.

This week......

Elsa snuggled Meg to sleep. It was so cute. I put Meg in her arms, and Elsa asked Myles to put a pillow under one arm. She sat and rocked her on the floor. Voila! Elsa was so proud of the fact that she got Meg to sleep.

 This week's infused water..............

Limes and Cucumbers.
I liked it. Chris was not so sure.

Last Saturday Darian (my best friend's little boy) wanted Elsa to come for a play-date.
He was most adamant about it, and I got a call while out on errands. It must have been meant to be because I was only a block from their house when the call came in. Well, Friday he was missing Elsa, so he came to play over here. I had two Ninjagos (Lego) and one Spiderman. They were so cute together.
Zane and Jay Ninjago and Spiderman
Our neighbor had a garage sale. I love when she has garage sales because she is Apostolic Lutheran and they always have such neat things.................I love their clothes. They kind of have a unique style. They don't always have the best garage sale prices though. Anyway I came away with an apron (my one weakness.............and don't mind my bed head), a skirt and shirt, a dress for Meg and a new duvet cover ($2). I love the color. I had to mull it over for a couple of hours, but ended up getting it. It just adds a pop of color to the bedroom.

The kids love that Meg is reaching and grabbing now, especially when she grabs a hold of them.
I think it warms Myles's heart the most.

Lastly, I was looking through some photos the other day and came across a couple from when I was a baby. I think these two look so much like Meg. I really couldn't see it before, and I've never really thought any of mine really looked like me, well, except for Elsa because she has my eyes and hair.
I just thought it was kinda neat :)

A Birthday, a haircut, and Meg turns 5 months........Oh My!!

Here is the latest news from The Lindsay home..................

I turned 41, and I'm feeling pretty good about that.
My best friend and her mother took me out to lunch and an hour long pedicure.
Because it was my birthday, I got a flower on my toes for free.
Aren't they purdy?

Rhaevyn made me Southern Banana Pudding for my birthday and Chris got me an infuser...........
I wasn't sure about it at first, but I really do love it. I can't wait to try out some other flavors, but right now I have pinapple and mint leaves in it.

Meg turned 5 months today. I feel like time is going by faster with her than any of the other children.
With the last post it was all 10 fingers she was trying to stuff into her mouth. Now she has found her toes.

Aeva got into CAM. They called to say they had a seat available and did she want it. I didn't even double check with her. I just answered "Yes!" We are all so thrilled for her, although two of us took it pretty hard. Most parents cry the first day they send their children off to Kindergarten. I'm now doing that for the 9th grade. Time to let the little chicks start to spread their wings. Boy it sure isn't easy.
She got her hair cut as well.

Before

After

Here are my two sleepy heads.............
Aeva watches Meg in the morning while I run Rhaevyn to seminary and then when I go pick her up.

I had a wonderful Mother's day. I got a home made card from Chris. Those are always the best because they are from him and straight from his heart.
Rhaevyn was sweet to round up the kids and make this for me.

Aeva made me a sweet card with a homemade snicker doodle cookie.

I was waiting in anticipation for the usual chocolate candy bar at church, but alas no chocolate this year. However, we did have something better. All the women got to be in class together, and we had pie and ice cream as well.

We've been doing some painting lately. Myles had fun with a science experiment the other day involving a Ziploc bag, some vinegar and baking soda.
I took this picture tonight at dinner. I just loved how Meg kept looking at Chris. She is trying to reach and grab for things now and is very interested in food. I think she is going to like getting some solid food next month.

 And that's a wrap for now :)

A peek into our lives this week.............

Meg is starting to enjoy her fingers. She loves to try and put all 10 fingers in her mouth at once.

Here is Meg listening to Rhaevyn play the violin. I couldn't quite get the look she kept doing.......it was this but she would look up a bit to Rhaevyn's face. Rhaevyn often puts Meg in her bouncy seat and then places it right in front of her while she practices.

Had to get a few pictures of Meg in her new polk-a-dot dress.

Elsa is not going to be able to hold up Meg much longer. Meg is growing fast!

I came down the hall this morning and could hear all the girls singing along to Frozen in my bathroom. Loved that they all three were singing and doing their hair. A picture and memory to treasure for sure.

Lastly, I came out to the car this morning to go to church and found this. Chris had pressure washed it yesterday evening. It made my heart smile.
