We are learning this week just how quick Meg is. You turn your head for one second and she is down the hall getting into trouble. I love watching her crawl. She reminds me of an iguana. It makes me giggle. She is also pulling herself up to a standing position. Baby girl...I am not ready for you to grow up so fast!
Yep, she is my mini me. I thought Elsa was my mini me, but I think Meg looks even more like me.
It's kind of like having a time machine and seeing me when I was a baby.

 


 


I redicscoverd my Raggedy Ann book. Funny how the girl, Marcella, in the book is really not how I remembered her as a little girl. Elsa and Myles are loving the stories, so I ordered more from the library. I got Raggedy Andy this time, and Myles is really not so sure about that. I think he just likes the stories about Raggedy Ann.

 
 
 Myles started Flag Football yesterday. It was 2 1/2 hours with all the age groups. That will be repeated next week, and then for the remainder of September and October he will have the Saturday 8:30-9:30 time slot. It's a great group of kids (all homeschooled) and the coaches are amazing. It is all about teaching good character and team work as well as how to play the game. Here he is catching the football.

Elsa was in charge of the FHE treat this last week. She did a good job making the cake and icing it.
Rhaevyn put some pretty flowers in her hair the other day.





And Miss Meg is really good at helping with the laundry; good at throwing it all out of the basket. You can get away with things like that when you are so little and cute.

 Last night the new Doctor Who episode came out. Chris and the two older girls watched it. I think they were a bit dissapointed, but their dinner was great..............Fish Fingers and Custard :) That was fun to do.

 

Lastly, here is Meg getting her scalp treatment. So fancy, huh?

Not much to update

I think I forgot to post pictures of my pretty jars of apricot jam.
I had so much fun making jam at my friend Jen's house. She was my first counselor in the RS presidency. One jar is already gone :(
At least I know everyone thinks it tastes good :)

Sunday morning Rhaevyn was sweet to sit and color with Elsa. This made Elsa feel very special and allowed me to get everything done that needed to be done in order to get out the door and to church on time.

Her babyhood is going by so fast.

We have come to the stage where our style tastes differ, but I feel pretty excited that I picked out this dress at a second hand shop here in town and she loved it. I thought it would go well with her 'Downton Abbey"shoes as she calls them.

Summer is winding down, and the start of school is almost upon us.
School shopping has wrapped up at our house, and I'm trying to recover from that.
It was fun, but at the same time it wasn't.  I've lived a rather sheltered world when it comes to back to school shopping since we home-school. But since Aeva is actually going to CAM this year, buying all the supplies was a bit eye opening for me.
I am super excited to see how Aeva likes CAM and how Rhaeyvn likes her chemistry class this year.
Next Up: Myles starts flag football on Saturday. This should be a fun experience!

Our Week

We've had a really fun filled week.
Rhaevyn had her dear friend, Brooke, over on Tuesday. They made chocolate and peanut butter chip cookies. Luckily most were sent home with Brooke. I also took some over to the Bishop's son who was sweet to take a picture with all our visiting family at church.

After the cookies were done we headed to Lewisville Park for an hour. That hour just buzzed by so fast! We found a new favorite spot. The kids had fun getting knee deep in the water.

 Meg absolely loves the water.

She did not want to be left out of dipping her feet in.

Wednesday it was back to violin lessons for Rhaevyn, and Aeva went swimming with the Young Women 20 mintues up the road at Horseshoe Lake.
Thursday the kids wanted to show Chris our new favorite spot at Lewisville. This time they came prepared with swimsuits on.

 Aeva and Myles braved the rocks and headed for the little island.

Yesterday evening, Friday, we went down to Fort Vancouver. I happened to read that they were having an event. The kids said they wanted to go, plus it was free, so we thought why not give it a whirl. The kids had a blast!

So fun in fact, that all the kids loved it.

I bought stuff at the store today to make it,

 and they've been out playing it since I got home!

Other news:
Meg has her first set of teeth.
She is now sitting up on her own.

 She is rocking back and forth and trying to move her knees.
The kids sit and cheer her on hoping she will crawl.
Last week we got her a high chair. This makes it so much easier to feed her and for us to eat.
She gets to sit at the table with us while we eat our meals.

 I can't believe summer is winding down.
I think we are almost ready for the school year to begin. It feels like fall and the holidays are just around the corner. But for now we'll just try and enjoy each day that is left of our carefree summer :)
