One Hip Black Walking Boot Please

So, Myles had his appointment with the foot doctor.
He does indeed have a broken toe, the big bone of his pinky toe to be exact.
So, for the next four weeks, his pinky toe gets to be buddy taped to the toe next to it,
and he gets to sport a hip black walking boot.
Here's to the first broken bone in our little family, and I'm hoping it's the last.

This Little Light

I think if I let her (Elsa) sit here at the computer she would just keep starting the song over....that's how much she loves it.

Here is a bit of her singing it. Notice she doesn't want me singing along with her. Maybe because I'm supposed to be recording her and not me :) As soon as I put the camera down she was all for me singing and dancing with her.

The Happenings at the Lindsays

Friday morning the girls started, what looks to be, a new adventure in hard work and learning good work ethic. If all goes as planned they will be helping with maintenance at a horse barn.
Friday was their trial run. They had to clean out stalls, sweep the barn, and then they brushed and lead around a dwarf horse.
Myles had fun just leading Tucker (the dwarf horse) around all over the place, letting him graze on some grass and then alfalfa.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves and can't wait to do it all again.
Elsa and Myles got a ride on Tucker. What a treat!


Friday afternoon Myles hurt his toe. I thought he just stubbed it and was in "buck up camper" mode. But at around ten that night I took a better look at it since Myles was still complaining and crying. His right foot, surrounding his pinky toe, was swollen and black and blue. Needless to say I felt awful. I gave him some Tylenol and elevated his foot. Saturday morning we went to Urgent Care. After some poking, massaging and several x-rays the doctor said it was probably just a sprain. Just as we were heading out the door he yelled down the hall that he'd changed his mind. After examining the x-rays again he thought it might be an avulsion fracture at a growth plate in his pinky toe. So, we are awaiting a phone call from the Podiatrists office.
Until then, Myles is being so patient and getting really good at balancing on one foot and hopping around on one foot.

I have found a new band that I love, love, love.

You can actually listen to several of their songs on the site.
Anyway, she loves their version of the song and loves singing along.
I'll have to get a video of it..............she makes me giggle when she sings it.

Last but not least..............
we love watching this show called Liberty Tree House.
They usually feature a science teacher from New Jersey who has this website

They make all kinds of fun things that have to do with science.
It makes science a lot of fun.
So, since we had some soda bottles (which is a rarity) Aeva wanted to make a vortex in a bottle.
The kids have had a blast with it!

It's Official..............

Rhaevyn's a teenager!

Rhaevyn invited her bestest friend, Brooke, over for her birthday. Their birthdays are two days apart. Amazing to think that they were in the same hospital at the same time for a bit when they were born.
We had a taco dinner, opened presents, ate cake, and then went to the mall.
We had planned to go ride the carousel again, but we got there after they had closed.
Oops!
So, Brooke and Rhaevyn had some freedom roaming the mall.
Freedom consisted of me trying to be invisible as I hovered within spying distance.
They even tried out a picture booth and each got to take home silly pictures of themselves.

Someone left this balloon and a Twix candy bar at the door for Rhaevyn.

Chris wrapped his present to Rhaevyn in twenty bags and one paper bag.
Then he wrapped it with boxing tape.

A Sunny Day Calls For An Outing

Our plan was to got to Moulton Falls, but apparently that was everyone else's plan too.
So, we ended up going to Lucia Falls. Not many people were there.
We had fun walking the trails, skipping rocks and enjoying the warm sunshine.

The kids enjoyed meandering out onto the big rock.

Myles and Elsa brought sandwich bags to collect rocks.

Myles was reaching for a small fish in the water.

They are all throwing rocks at the same time.
Aeva got pretty good at skipping rocks.

We took a drive past Lucia and Moulton Falls
and found all these little waterfalls along the side
of the road.

It was wonderful to get out and enjoy the beauty that God created for us.

At 3:10 in the morning three years ago.............

our little Elsa was born.
Has it really been three years? It doesn't seem possible that three years have just flown by already.
I can't even remember what life was like without her.

Yesterday we celebrated her birthday. I know, a day early, but we all just couldn't help it.
First it was off to the dentist's office, where she got a perfect score ;).
Then we went to get her free birthday burger at Red Robin and rode the carousel at Jantzen Beach five times because it was free!!!!
We took Elsa to the Goodwill outlet where we found her a tiny two wheel bike and then home to open presents and have cake.
I think she had a delightful day.

Hello Again.............It's Been A While

I'm back :)
It has been some time since I last did a post.
Things have been busy as usual, but even more so with my new calling.
So, here is a brief run down of the happenings here in our little corner of the world.

The trees out front look like they have pink popcorn all over them.
The kids have cabin fever and are ready for warmer weather to be here.
We have had a few days here and there with positively beautiful weather.
One of those days was last weekend.
The kids had been nit picking and arguing all morning, so I decided to fix the problem.
Hard labor outside which consisted of window washing.
They were not thrilled, but my windows looked the best they have since we moved into the house.


Some people did not want any photos with proof of this window washing experience.

Some actually had fun washing windows.

Aeva, that night at dinner, said it was actually kind of fun.
All in all it was a win, win......................I got my windows washed, and they learned an important lesson.

I came up with a new way to not refill the bathroom soap container every week.
The other day I thought to myself... "I can't believe I am needing to refill the container again." On the upside, at least I know everyone is washing their hands :)
Anyway, I usually buy refills at Costco when they have a coupon.
I decided, why wait to use it to refill the little containers and just put a pump in it.
I can't wait to see how long this lasts.

Since my last post, we also had St. Patrick's Day.
Normally this falls during the week, at which point the kids and I head over to O'Brady's for a free mint, vanilla, or mint/vanilla swirl soft serve.
This year was a special treat because it fell on a Saturday, and Chris got to take the kids (well three of them). I think they had the most fun with him because they all got to get their face painted, balloons, and a little something extra!

Elsa was ecstatic that she got to go. After almost five days of running a fever she felt well enough to get out of the house.

Miss Rhaevyn missed out on the free ice cream because she was cleaning up from her sleep over.
She got to do something really fun the night before St. Patrick's Day.
She had a sleep over in a barn.
This was part of camp pre-certification. All the young women got to sleep up in the hay loft and smell the wonderful aroma from the horses down below. She had the best time. I got to pet the miniature horses the following morning when I went to pick her up. She gets another barn sleep over the week of her birthday, and she can't wait!
