Today, I went to Super Saturday. This is a day that our ward at church does crafts.
Here are the creations that I came home with.

Now, I can't take credit for these place mat purses.
A nice lady at church sewed them up for me because one of my other projects was taking a long time to do. I did add a snap closure, though, to Rhaevyn's when I got home.
Aeva and Rhaevyn sewed on their own buttons.

I made these two clips. I got a quick rundown on how to do these and then was left to try on my own. Not too bad for a first try, but I think they could be better.
Well, now that I know how do it, maybe I'll try my hand at a couple more.

Last but not least, here is my final project......the one that took the longest.

It looks quite nice on my piano even if I do say so myself.

We had a bit of a rice cereal catastrophe this week.
Elsa would not unlock her iron jaws to eat the cereal I made.
So, I put the bowl and spoon on the table. I readjusted her bib and went to turn and get the bowl
when all of a sudden Myles came full force with the spoon full of cereal aimed at Elsa's mouth.
He was determined that she was going to eat it.
He had the bowl in the opposite hand, and Elsa kicked it with her foot.
The bowl went speeding to the kitchen floor.
It landed right side up , but it hit with such force that the rice cereal flew up into the air
and rained down upon us. We had rice cereal on our clothes, in our hair and in our soup.
All we could do is laugh. We all laughed so hard we had tears in our eyes.
Myles said he wanted to do it again "tomorrow." But I assured him that I might not think it was as funny if it happened again the next day.

This week Elsa started too........


And since then I have been finding her everywhere.

behind the rocking chair.


She kind of does a bit of rolling, a bit of army crawling, a bit of scooting, and a bit of regular crawling to get places.

What a week.
Lots of rain, a bit of sun and a plethora of dirty laundry.
I thought about taking a picture of the clothes pile, but I didn't want to scare anyone.
Our not quite one year old washing machine decided to stop working on Wednesday.
There was no swishing of the washer.
Just lots of water filling up the basin and then draining, and no repair man until Monday.
I had six delicate items that needed to be washed last night or some of us wouldn't be attending church today. Chris hinted at getting the old washboard down and giving that a try. I wasn't quite up for that, so I decided last night just to plug the washer back in and see what would happen. Wouldn't you know it, it started to work just fine. Don't get me wrong. I am glad, but it's like when you've got a pain and go to the doctor. When you get there you feel fine.
So, needless to say I have been in overdrive mode getting some laundry under control.

Elsa had her first bites of rice cereal this week. I don't think she cared for it much, however, Myles loved it. He wanted a whole bowl to himself.

With a break in the weather, Myles got out and kicked his soccer ball around.
He was a little upset that his soccer shorts weren't washed.

I am not sure why Rhaevyn wanted to take a picture of me in this dress so badly, but it made me feel good that she did.

SIx Months

Elsa turned six months old on Wednesday.

Each month just seems to fly by.

I feel ill prepared for my little dumplings to grow up, and yet I know they must

and am so happy that they are growing and learning.

They are such fun little people to have in our home.

So, as I was saying, our little Elsa is six months old.

She had her checkup on Thursday and did so good getting her shots.

She didn't cry until the last one and only a little bit then.

She now weighs 16 pounds 4 oz. She is 26 1/2 inches long. She didn't gain much these last two months, but I think that is because she is constantly on the move.

She is still in the 75th percentile for her height.

Rhaevyn, this week, lost another tooth.

On Friday I gave the kids a Hershey's Kiss each. Rhaevyn put hers in her mouth and then ran off down the hall. I heard water running and went to check on her. Apparently, when she bit into the kiss, out popped her tooth.

I think everyone has finally settled on what they want to be for Halloween.

I did have to take some things back to the store yesterday, as Rhaevyn had changed her mind about being a witch. Our wonderful next door neighbor is letting her borrow a white outfit and silver belt for her Halloween outfit. I won't give anymore clues away about her costume, that way you can all be surprised when I post her pictures in a couple weeks.

I took some pictures of Elsa yesterday.

I made her this cute black tutu, and I had found a really cute pair of black and white striped leggings at Target. However, I just could not justify spending the $6. So, I bought them just to take her pictures, and I returned them yesterday. Is that bad?

I do think they are awfully cute on her.

You can see by these next pictures that she clearly had had enough of the picture taking after a while.

Today, Myles got really dressed up for Church.

It was cold enough to do that.

He wanted to wear one of Christopher's bow ties.

I thought he looked so handsome.

He said to me the other day, "Mom, I love my girls."

It gave me such warm fuzzies.

We got out the exersaucer on Friday and let Elsa try it out.

She likes it, but I think the kids have more fun showing her all the toys attached to it.

Leaves are falling on the rooftops and on the ground.

September Ends, October Begins

I can hardly believe that Fall is here, October has begun, and Halloween is just around the corner.
We have had some blustery weather this past week. I love those days when the sun is out with a blue sky, and the wind is blowing the leaves off the trees. Time for some hot cocoa!
Our little munchkin is really rocking and rolling, and I mean that literally. She rolls everywhere, and I just can't get over how fast she is. I said to the kids and Chris yesterday, "Who needs a cat when you have Elsa".....as she was making her way over to a cord plugged into the wall. We really have to keep an eye on her these days. She likes to go exploring. As for the rocking part, when she isn't rolling, she is up on her hands and knees rocking back and forth.

I made some more 7 layer jello. This stuff goes so fast when I make it.
Rhaevyn picked out the flavors this time.
Strawberry, raspberry, lemon and black cherry.
This one turned out much better than my first attempt.
I think I may try one for Halloween using black cherry, orange and grape.

Last weekend, our teacher notified us that it was free museum weekend.
Our local aviation museum was one of the museums we could attend for free. Unfortunately, the pass was only good for two people, and you could only use one pass per household.
So, Chris and Aeva used the pass. Myles tagged along because he was young enough to get in free. They had a great time. Aeva took our old camera along to shoot some photos.

Kinner was his great grandfather, and just a fascinating FYI: Amelia Earhart learned to fly at the airport Kinner owned, and the first plane she bought was the Kinner Canary.

She doesn't have a whole lot, but I managed to get this to clip onto her wisps.

He loves playing with it.

I was doing the dishes the other day while listening to the music on my blog.
All of a sudden the volume went way up, and I turned to see this munchkin dancing around to the music.

Elsa loves her daddy.
She knows exactly when he comes home and does everything to make eye contact with him.
A couple of weeks ago he came home, and she was literally craning her neck to make eye contact. Well, no eye contact was made. She was on the floor and really started to howl. I picked her up thinking that would make her feel better. Oh no......that didn't make her happy. She started really making a fuss. I started to laugh and said to Chris "I think she wants you." Yep, as soon as I handed her over the fussing stopped and she was happy as a clam.
She loves it when Chris gives her a horsey ride on his knee.
