Quick Update

I have a bunch of pictures and thought I'd do a quick update while the kids are out playing and our little Elsa is sleeping.
Myles continues to bring laughter to each day. Gosh I love him!
I walked past the kitchen the other night and didn't see him at the table where he was supposed to be eating oatmeal. This is his favorite food which, if I let him, he would eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. I think he'll have great cholesterol. Anyway, I decided to actually go into the kitchen to check on him, and I found him fast asleep. The girls and I must have really worn him out.

He just loves his baby Elsa so much. If he could spend a majority of his day holding her, I think he'd be very happy. He loves to nuzzle her, hold her hand, and tell her she is "adorable" and "beautiful." He doesn't like it when she cries because I think he is not sure what to do with her when she is upset. He will usually tell her "it's okay baby Elsa."

I love all the funny positions babies sleep in.

When Chris came home from work the other day he and Elsa took a little snooze together.

Miss Rhaevyn is so wonderful at rocking Elsa and getting her to sleep, and she loves it.

It is so wonderful to have two extra pairs of hands around here.

Myles is telling Elsa to say "cheese" while he takes a picture of her with a toy camera.

We are going to bless Elsa on Sunday, and I decided to see what dress to put her in.
I couldn't decide between the dress Rhaevyn wore (which was my blessing dress) or the one Aeva wore. I really wanted her to have one of her own. I dug through my hope chest and found one and an extra bonnet too. She has her very own outfit now.

She did not like having to model it.

Here Myles is showing off "Strawberry" the bear that Aeva got from the dentist yesterday. The girls got up extra early to make cards for their dentist and hygienist since we won't have Kaiser dental anymore. Chris was so great to take the day off and take them to their appointment. Aeva said she started to cry during her appointment because she is going to miss going there. Both girls got a stuffed animal, as their dentist wanted them to remember her.
I was happy to hear that they both got thumbs up on how great their teeth looked.

Since I started this entry with Myles, I'll finish with him too.

And last but not least, I'll leave you with this video clip from this morning. I had to try really hard not to laugh.

2 weeks old, Sunshine and a Farewell.

Elsa is two weeks old, is up to 9 lbs and 1 oz and has grown 1/4 of an inch. Our pediatrician has nicknamed her "blastoff" because he says that's what she's done with her height and weight.

She is quite the eater. She reminds me so much of Rhaevyn when she was a newborn.

The girls got out their scrapbooks this week to see who they thought Elsa looked more like. I pointed out to them that they both (Rhaevyn and Aeva) looked so much like each other until they hit about four or five months old. That said, she really does look a lot like Rhaevyn. She has her hair and the widows peak. She reminds me of Myles in that she has the hardest time waking up. She sounds like a little squeaker toy.

I made up a song to sing to her. Us girls love making up new words to old tunes, especially when it come to babies. The well sung song for Myles was to the camp tune "cookie." The one that I've sung to all my babies is to the Nestle tune.......with the dog.
N-E-S-T-L-E-S.... Nestles makes the very best Chocolate.
In my version I spell out their names and tell them they are the very best baby.
Our new one for Elsa is to the song by Neil Sedaka "Breaking Up is Hard to Do."
My version is "Waking Up is Hard to Do." We all get a good laugh from it.

This week we had some gorgeous weather again. It got into the 80's I think. The kids enjoyed riding their bikes, and we drew some pictures on the driveway with chalk.

This is Myles' favorite hat. He loves to wear it whenever he is going somewhere. In fact, he put it on just before leaving for church this morning.

Tuesday was a sad day for us, as we said goodbye to our Pediatrician of 10 years. We no longer have Kaiser, so that means we have to fine a new doctor. We all gave him a hug goodbye and even shed some tears. He told us this wasn't goodbye, to email him if we had any questions at all, and gave us his cell phone number so we could get together for some sandcastle building sometime.
We watched two new movies this week. One was Despereaux, which Oma sent. I think this is Myles' new favorite. Friday night we watched City of Ember. Rhaevyn is reading the book.

Elsa is being taken very good care of by her three mommies and two daddies. Myles gets upset every time he can't find her. He runs through the house calling her name, or sometimes he runs to me telling me she is missing and wants to know where she is. The other day I peeked over at him, and he was sitting next to her holding her hand while watching Despereaux. He is always asking to hold her. She is indeed loved.
Myles had a hard day and fell asleep while Aeva was reading him a story.

Last night after he changed her she kept following him with her eyes and head....craning to see him as I held her. It was so sweet.

Blissful Slumber.

We've been enjoying the most gorgeous weather here the past couple of days.
It got up to 75 today.
Chris went back to work on Wednesday.
The girls had their Washington State testing this week. They both really enjoyed it.
That is always good to hear.
Thankfully Chris was off for the first two days to take them.
Wednesday it was my turn to go it alone.
I have to say I did rather well I thought, especially with having to get a newborn and 2 1/2 year old ready to go and out the door by 8 am.
I made it on time.
Thursday Myles had a doctor appointment and we got there on time too.
However, I couldn't have done it without my two big helpers, Rhaevyn and Aeva.
Myles has his moments of being an awesome helper too.

Catching Up

Friday was Rhaevyn's birthday......turning 10 on April 10th. We told her that was pretty special.
Chris took her out to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch, and then they went shopping at Target, Payless Shoes and JC Penney. She had a blast. Because it was her birthday, Sweet Tomatoes gave her two bags of chocolate chip cookies. She was pretty excited about that.

She got a new shirt and a new pair of tennis shoes.
I can't believe she is wearing the same size shoe as me!
Ben and Stacey arrived Friday evening, and Stacey went to help Rhaevyn pick out her birthday cake. It was called a colossal chocolate cake. Boy was it scrumptious!

Ben and Stacey got some baby holding time in.

On Saturday Ben made us dinner. Oh, it was so good. Chicken Parmesan and cheesy potatoes with Trader Joe Green beans. Thanks Ben!

More baby time before they had to leave to go home.

Rhaevyn says that she is going to try and save up all her money so that Uncle Ben and Auntie Stacey can stay for a week next time. She says she'd do anything to have them stay longer........except eat her vegetables.

The kids just can't get enough of her. They can't stop kissing her and hugging her. It is a good thing she can sleep through all the hugs and kisses and even the tickles that Myles gives her. He is so cute with her. He is always asking where she is if he doesn't see her. He giggles when he holds her and can't help but give her lots of kisses all over her head. Love it.

I can hardly believe she is one week old today.

And so it begins......time is flying already.

Chris has become an expert at swaddling.
This is probably why she sleeps pretty well.
I told him he could add that skill to his resume.

Myles new toy......he pretends my exercise ball is a horse.
