Ready for October recap?
It was forecast that we were to get rain starting Friday night and into Saturday. We decided to soak up some rays and walk Officer's Row in Vancouver Friday afternoon. The weather was so nice! It was gorgeous! We did a lot of walking!!
I love this window and the cute houses around Officer's Row.
Myles and Chris got started on the foundation for the chicken coop. Meg wanted to help out as well.

All the kids took painted rocks to hide along the way. This is a cute chicken one that Rhaevyn painted and hid.

There were a bunch of trees that had apples on them, and Myles picked some. They were quite tasty!

The chicken coop is coming along!!
We haven't been to a pumpkin patch in years, but with everyone together and the pumpkin patch we always took the older girls to closing, I thought maybe this was the year we should. Plus, Meg has never been to a pumpkin patch. It was a lot of fun; a great memory made!! The only thing I was sad about was Rhaevyn didn't get to come. She was overloaded with homework.

We splurged and got a small jug of apple cider. It was absolutely tasty!!

Before the painting began:
At the pumpkin patch!!! I loved seeing the smiles and hearing the giggles from the kids at the pumpkin patch. I loved hearing, when we piled back into the car, that they all had such a great time and were so glad we made a memory at the pumpkin patch.
Aeva wanted to recreate a picture we took of her like this many years ago.
When we used to take the older girls to this pumpkin patch we always did the hay ride. I just couldn't skip that this time since the farm is closing down. It was worth the money........we got the hayride all to ourselves!!
Meg invited her best friend, KK, over to play. He brought her these pretty roses in a mason jar. They smelled so good. Every couple of minutes Meg would stop what she was doing and come into the kitchen to look at her roses and smell them. It was so sweet.

The older girls thought it would be fun to make Boo cups like I did when they were little (once). Elsa and Meg had a lot of fun getting everything ready so each of us could put our Boo cups together.
Our chickies have started to fly up and perch on the sides of the box. Myles even put in a roosting stick for them.
Elsa got six teeth pulled. They were all wiggly, but they just didn't lwant to come out. Aeva had the same problem when she was little. Elsa was such a trooper. It was almost a three hour dentist appointment. Her Sunbeam teacher, who is a hygienist at the dental office, came in and got her all settled down and numbed. Then her teeth were scanned for her space retainer, lastly the dentist came in to remove her teeth. Elsa couldn't believe how fast he took all six of them out. They had put the movie The Greatest Showman on for her and warned her it was the dentist's favorite movie so he'd probably be singing to it. Sure enough, both he and Elsa were singing together to the last song of the movie. It was so cute! Two weeks after she got all her teeth pulled she got her space retainer put in.
It's Halloween Time!!
We weren't really sure how the people
around these parts were going to handle Halloween. Because it seemed so
up in the air if anyone was even going to hand out candy, we opted to
just come up with our own way of having fun Halloween night. Everyone
dressed up in some sort of way, we had mummy hotdogs for dinner, played
games, and listened to The Tell Tale Heart while eating Oreo cookies by
candlelight. We all had a great time!
Elsa dressed up as Kiki from Kiki's Delivery Service. Rhaevyn was so sweet to crochet her a black cat at the last minute.
Ooops.......a few updates of the coop:

Oh and Molly......dressed in her warm sweater. Poor thing has been shivering because I won't turn on the heat.
Okay, back to Halloween. Meg wanted to be Felicity from the American Girl series.

I'll sneak this in here. We decided the day after Halloween to drive up to Bonney Lake and surprise Ben and Stacey. I have been collecting things here and there for Simon that Meg had outgrown as far as toys and books, plus we had a birthday gift for him. It just seemed like a nice way to spend Sunday. It was a beautiful day for a drive up north. They now live closer to us......so it was a quicker drive time. The fall colors were beautiful, and we got to see beautiful Mt. Rainier. We knocked on their door, stood out at the curb, and yelled "surprise!" when they opened the door. We had a nice time chatting in their back yard. I'm so thankful that the weather was so nice that we could do that. We had a nice drive home laughing and singing.
The coop is so close to being done. Chris is hoping to have it done before Tuesday because he starts his new job on Wednesday.
Myles has been a good helper here and there with the coop, but I am so very proud of Chris. He was very unsure of how this coop would turn out because he's never built anything with wood. It has turned out so nice. I told him he could build a tiny house after this😆 I know the chickens are just gonna love it!!
