Time for another post 😃
We've had haircuts, start of our school year, and some new additions to the fam.
Myles and Aeva got haircuts..........
Aeva was channeling her inner Audrey Hepburn
I can't believe I have been homeschooling since 2004. I jumped in with both feet and never looked back. I've never regretted it one bit. It's been such an awesome experience, so many wonderful memories made, so much that I've learned, time with my kiddos that I wouldn't trade for the world!
Molly hanging out with Aeva.
We went for an outing to JoAnn Fabrics because there was a great sale on patterns, and Aeva wanted to get a few. We had to stop at the Halloween display.
My best friend's mom gave Elsa a cross stitch to work on. It's a pillow case. Elsa was so thrilled and is really enjoying it.
I can't remember if I posted about this or not. I took down the little bunting that Rhaevyn had made for me one Christmas years ago. I put up something new and some fairy lights.
I made this for Meg. This is one of the ways we do her spelling words.

Rhaevyn and Myles have really wanted to get chickens for about two years now. I was able to resist up until now. I figured we'd do Ag Science this year for Myles. He has done, and continues to do, a lot of research about chicken breeds, chicks, chicken coops, etc. You name it he has, and is, researching it. I thought I'd have until the spring. I had no idea that the feed store would have chicks in the fall.
Here he is setting up a place for chicks.
Myles went Monday with Chris to the feed store. He decided on what breed of chick he wanted. Rhaevyn purchased the chick beginner kit. When they went back that evening, the breed Myles wanted (Buff Orpington) was sold out 😢
So, he decided to get a Barred Rock. He named her Betty. Rhaevyn got a Black Australorp and named her Lady Silfrena
I had decided that I was going to get one. Three was the max. I had heard about chicken math, read about chicken math, and been warned about chicken math. I resolved that I would not fall victim to chicken math. Then as I called around to see what the other feed store had, and was going to get in, there were two I really wanted. So, four was now the max. No more than four!!
Thursday evening we went and looked at a chicken coop, which we ended up deciding was too small for four chickens. Since we were over in the direction of the other feed store I thought I would just stop in. One of the breeds I really wanted was sold out and was not coming in the next day. I found another breed that was coming in and thought I would just get that one. We'd still just have four.
Friday morning everyone hurried to get their schoolwork done. We headed over to the feed store to get first pick. I couldn't believe it, the one breed that I had wanted, but had sold out, was was there!! A new batch arrived. What to do, what to do??? Well, why not get all three? Then Rhaevyn wanted just one more. Saturday, Elsa picked out her own...........I mean at this point what's one more chicken????
So, now we have seven..........which is the number of completeness.
To the two that we got on Monday we added a:
Blue Copper Moran, known for laying chocolate eggs that are supposed to be the best tasting. She is mine, and I named her Zippy. It was originally Mable, but she is the tiniest of the chicks and zips around everywhere not worrying about running any of the other chicks over. So, Zippy seemed more fitting.
Blue Wyandotte. She is also mine, and I named her Dot.
Mottled Java. This has now ended up being Meg's, and her name is Dolly.
Buff Orpington. This is Elsa's, and she named her Pumpkin.
Cinnamon Queen. This is Rhaevyn's second, and her name is Biscuit.
They are so super cute, and so fun to watch. We are all learning so much.
Chris said we could have chickens, but he wasn't thrilled. He said he wanted nothing to do with them. Ha ha ha, now he has done a lot of research on coops and come up with some plans for one. He and Myles are going to build one. Yay............woodworking for Myles's schooling!!
Tuesday Chris had a job interview online, so I took the kids to Lewisville Park for a bit. The weather was gorgeous!
Myles wanted me to make several slow motion videos of him at the park. He is so funny!
Dentist appointment day............
No cavities!!!
