September is sailing away

I can't believe it is the last day of September!! Why does time seem to go so fast??

Let's see, what news do I have for you??

Besides loving her violin lessons, Elsa really enjoys her Highland Dance class and loves her teacher. She is working on learning the Highland Fling and the Sword Dance.

 Elsa was so sweet to volunteer to clean off the back patio for me. It looked good for about all of five minutes, and then you couldn't tell she'd even done anything with the amount of leaves that were falling off the tree.

This is Meg's banner of the phonics she is learning.  She actually has the sounds of five letters mastered, but we have not put up the other two yet. She is really enjoying "school" even if it is at home.

 

Myles worked with Meg on this airplane this past week. He quite enjoyed putting it together with her.

 

 Meg helped me get dinner ready Wednesday evening. She helped cut the olives. She did an amazing job. Elsa was so worried that Meg would cut her fingers off, but she did great! She still has 10 fingers intact!


 

 

Rhaevyn called to talk Wednesday evening just before we left for mutual. Before we hung up she started singing to Meg (Never Enough from The Greatest Showman). Meg loves singing this song, and Rhaevyn used to sing it a lot during the summer. Oh my goodness, my heart lodged itself in my throat, and all I could do was sob. Oh how I miss hearing my Rhaevyn sing on a daily basis. This is a little smidgen of Meg singing. I sent it to Rhaevyn, and that made her heart smile. It is hard to actually get footage of Meg singing because she can hear when I start recording.

Speaking of vintage.........
Rhaevyn has been wanting to join the swing dance club at BYU. She found that the first meeting was a homecoming dance. She decided to go stag. She was a bit worried she'd be a wall flower and that everyone would have a date. She said she had a great time and was not allowed to be a wallflower. She was asked to dance and met some really nice people. 

Aeva found a duck pond at the other end of the BYU campus. A little family at the duck pond gave her a small paper bag of duck food. She was thrilled. The ducks ate right out of her hand, and she got to pet a duck under it's bill. There were some turtles there too.

Aeva ventured to target by herself last weekend since her back pack had fallen apart. It made me a bit nervous hearing about her venture. She got a bit lost. She got off at the wrong stop, and then she had to trek a bit to arrive at Target. I told her next time I don't want her going alone. She said she prayed the entire time. Good news on the back pack... it was on sale for $20 off the original price.
She went to JoAnn's with her roommate and purchased ribbing for the pants she is making in her sewing class. She said they had a lot of fun doing that together.

She got to pet a snake at the live animal show at the Bean Museum. That was something new and exciting for her.

Aeva added some more decorations to her room.

This week she and Rhaevyn went to Walmart. It sounds like it was a very long trek on foot, especially while carrying items purchased, but they survived!

So far I am loving my new calling!!! I did my first newsletter for October. I think the girls in our Young Women's loved it, and I think it turned out pretty cute!

 Myles received three merit badges at the court of honor Wednesday night (wood working, archery, sculpture). I missed him getting the badges because I didn't make it in time 😭 Now we just  need to submit the merit badge card for his aviation merit badge.

We did water colors for art this week.

It was nice and relaxing to spend time doing water colors together.
