Myles, 12, what??? He was just turning eight wasn't he? This is the present he got for Rhaevyn.
Myles turned 12, which means he is able to be ordained a deacon and receive the Aaronic Priesthood in the LDS church. In the weeks leading up to his birthday he was busy making a list of the men, doing his best to ask in person those who live locally, he wanted to help with his ordination. It was interesting to see who he asked and why. He did his best to keep the list small, but he asked about 12 Melchizedek Priesthood holders..... a past hometeacher, the current missionaries serving in our ward (one went home a week before Myles's ordination), a past bishop/ cub scout leader, his current YM President/eye dr., his two grandfathers, and several more. It was really such a wonderful group of men who stood in the circle. It was such a special experience, as his mother, to witness Myles's ordination and have so many present that are family and friends that care about him.
We had a really great visit with both Christopher's parents and my parents.

We were in luck the day we went to the fort because they had lots of volunteers explaining fun facts. This is the head to a small hatchet that children long ago would have been given (handle attached) to play with.

This chair was an original to the Marshall house when George Marshall (of the WWII Marshall Plan) inhabited the house. I love this chair! It is made for short people and was quite springy 😊

The kids and I introduced the card game, Five Crowns, to the grandmothers. We had so much fun playing with them!!
We had a great time swimming at the hotels while both sets of grandparents were here. I got to swim Thursday and Saturday night, and Chris got to swim with them on Friday night.
I had so much fun having races with Myles and Elsa, jumping into the pool with Myles, and giving Meg piggy back rides around the pool. We all slept really well after our swims.
For our last meal, Sunday evening, of the grandparents' visit Rhaevyn made a peach blueberry pie and a sugar cream pie. This was in honor of Myles's birthday as well. I am going to miss my baker when she is off at college.

We all enjoyed our visit with all four grandparents and are so very thankful that they made the trip and came to support Myles. We loved the time we got to spend with the four of them; the conversation and company were great. A wonderful memory made for sure!!
