A Happy 15th Birthday and a Little More.........

 I recounted the day, 15 years ago, with the kids of  when Rhaevyn was born.
They got a kick out of that. I remember being told "By lunch you'll have a baby!" Lunch came and went I told the kids. Then "By dinner you'll definitely have a baby!", and dinner came and went. The kids all laughed at this. I did have a baby just before the 10th turned into the 11th of April.
And now my little cherub has turned 15................well I've got a few more hours :)

So, I've just put a few pictures on here of her birthday and some other stuff that has taken place in the last month.

Rhaevyn got this cute apron from Oma. Perfect for her baking days.

I managed to get 15 candles on Rhaevyn's half of the cake.

 Rhaevyn was number 154 in line for Divergent at the Library.

Aeva didn't' think she should have to wait that long.

 Myles got Rhaevyn a Hawkeye cup.

Which she used for her black cherry float for her birthday dinner.

 I'm learning to let go little by little.

My birthday present to Rhaevyn was blush, mascara and tinted gloss.

Ya, she was excited! 

Aeva is even more excited because she knows she doesn't have long to wait until it is 

her turn for makeup.

Two little munchkins who wanted to help daddy work on getting the Suburban ready for the trip.

 Rhaevyn picked out a Boston Creme Cake for her birthday.

We split it down the middle and had half for Elsa's birthday and half for Rhaevyn's.

 For conference I normally make homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

This year we decided to do something special for lunch too.

Rhaevyn made her yummy french bread and we made sub sandwiches.

We think this may be an new tradition for us.

 I tried my hand at making foot flowers.

 Here is Miss Meg in the bath. 

She absolutely loves splashing and cries her eyes out when we take her out of the tub.

 Rhaevyn and Aeva made her a little bed in the laundry basket and shuttled her down the hall to  their room. They like her to hang out with them while they do school work.

 This is one of Rhaevyn's creations. 

It is strawberry cake. She tried a recipe that said it was like a bakery cake.

It looked so pretty and tasted delicious.

in a matter of five years.......................it has flown by! So glad that this fun, spirited, dancing, singing, strong willed girl is ours for eternity. Our family wouldn't be the same without her.

3 Months

Rhaevyn is still getting orders for her French Bread. It is the talk of the ward. A lot of her orders are either repeat customers or new customers that have either heard about her bread or gotten a taste of it from someone that ordered it.
Rhaevyn is also practicing with the youth orchestera that will be playing at the Regional Youth Conference.
We learned today that Rhaevyn will not be needing braces. She has a perfect bite and nearly perfect teeth, as far as being straight. She is very, very happy that braces are not in her future, unless she really wants them when she is an adult. She lucked out!
Rhaevyn invited several young women from church over on Friday night.
They played SPOONS and a get to know you game involving questions and M&M's. I think everyone had a great time. This morning in Seminary their teacher was asking what the kids did for fun over the weekend, and one girl replied "went to Rhaevyn's house!" That made Rhaevyn feel really good.

Aeva is busy writing a story about superheros, perfecting her drawing, and is now attempting to do stop motion movies with legos.
We also learned today that Aeva will indeed need braces. She is classified as medically necessary. Her bottom teeth are hitting the roof of her mouth. I was asking if she was going to need headgear. The orthodontist didn't think so. He said that he thought rubber bands would do the trick, but if not they could use these springs. I said "oh like Jasper Jumpers?" He looked surprised and said "yes." I explained that Dr. Jasper was my orthodontist. He was pretty excited and wanted to know if he lived around here. I had to explain that I was from California and that is where Dr. Jasper was when I was his patient. So, in a few months Aeva will have braces. Luckily she is pretty excited. She is already planning out colors.
Aeva wanted to be able to have a get together with two young women from church, so that will be happening the last Friday of this month. She wasn't sure what to do, as games didn't seem to be her thing. I suggested Legos, and that seemed like a good idea to her. So, she made up little invitations for two friends to come build Legos and have ice cream sundaes.

Myles just lost another tooth. That darned Tooth Fairy can't seem to get her act together lately. Every time he loses a tooth it takes her at least three nights to finally pick up his tooth and leave money. Good thing Myles is so patient with her.
He just had a little friend over to play Legos the night of Rhaevyn's party, as one of the girls coming was her sister. They played Legos, watched a movie, ate popcorn, played hide and seek, and had a great time. Myles has been wanting more time with me, so I've been taking him on my jogs. That has really been a lot of fun!

Elsa has been the party goer lately. She has been invited to two parties and a playdate. I think this has been really good for her. Not being the baby of the family anymore has been a bit hard on her, so getting to go have fun with other little girls her age has been fantastic. We are starting to order her schoolbooks for Kindergarten, as her birthday is next month and we'll be starting school for her. I think she is getting excited.

Meg is growing by leaps and bounds. She is now 3 months old and rolled over for the first time last Friday. Aeva asked me if I was going to cry. I love that my older girls get how bittersweet these milestones are for me. I'm so happy she is doing what she is supposed to at the appropriate time, but she didn't stay that newborn for very long.

 

 

 We all attempted to wear green today. No magnificent Irish meals today, but I did make a green jello poke cake for dessert.

A Little Bit of Meg

Aeva and Rhaevyn are busy earning money for girl's camp.
Rhaevyn decided to go her own road and not do what all the other young women at church are doing to earn money. She is making French Bread and selling it for $2 a loaf. This past week she had two orders a day and Saturday she made 10 loaves. Chris said all he heard in choir practice was how good Rhaevyn's French Bread was. She has been wanting to do this for a long time. I decided it was time to let her fly and not worry about failure. This is really teaching her about running a business and it's great!

She ties these around each loaf that she sells.

Playing Catch Up

There's been a lot going on lately.
Mainly everyone has been taking turns with being sick. I am hoping that baby will not get sick. She just got shots the other day and poor thing has not wanted to be put down at all. She likes to be snuggled but whimpers while she sleeps. Myles went with me to her doctor appointment to be my extra set of hands. We were some sight...........He and I had teary eyes when she got her shots and started to howl. I love that he has such a tender heart when it comes to his little sister.
By the way, our little Meg is now 11 pounds and has grown 2 1/2 inches since she was born.

We had several days of snow. Everyone was super excited to have snow, but after three days of it they were wanting it to melt so we could actually go somewhere. They had fun playing in it though. I do love how it looks at night..............the lights reflecting off of it. And I love how quiet it is outside when the snow is falling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ben and Stacey came for a visit. It was fun having Ben as my chauffer. The suburban, I know, can handle the snow, but I can't. I've not had much experience driving in it. I know I just need to be more brave and adventurous. Anway, it was super fun to have Stacey and Ben here. They got to meet Meg and hold her and cuddle her.

 

 Elsa has been asking to hold Meg like the rest of us. I've let her do this in small spurts, and she has to stay in one spot. We laugh because Meg is practically half Elsa's size.

Last but not least, I am posting my favorite Valentine's present that I recieved from Chris this year.
I loved the flowers and treats, but I absolutely love these shoes that he got me. I don't get new shoes very often. In fact it has been 4 years since I bought my last pair of church shoes (except for the cheap slip on shoes while I was pregnant). I couldn't believe they had these in my size :)

Okay this is really the last.............

Myles wanted to make dessert one night. He asked for bananas and chocolate chips from the store and made chocolate dipped bananas.
