Playing Catch Up

There's been a lot going on lately.
Mainly everyone has been taking turns with being sick. I am hoping that baby will not get sick. She just got shots the other day and poor thing has not wanted to be put down at all. She likes to be snuggled but whimpers while she sleeps. Myles went with me to her doctor appointment to be my extra set of hands. We were some sight...........He and I had teary eyes when she got her shots and started to howl. I love that he has such a tender heart when it comes to his little sister.
By the way, our little Meg is now 11 pounds and has grown 2 1/2 inches since she was born.

We had several days of snow. Everyone was super excited to have snow, but after three days of it they were wanting it to melt so we could actually go somewhere. They had fun playing in it though. I do love how it looks at night..............the lights reflecting off of it. And I love how quiet it is outside when the snow is falling.

Ben and Stacey came for a visit. It was fun having Ben as my chauffer. The suburban, I know, can handle the snow, but I can't. I've not had much experience driving in it. I know I just need to be more brave and adventurous. Anway, it was super fun to have Stacey and Ben here. They got to meet Meg and hold her and cuddle her.

Elsa has been asking to hold Meg like the rest of us. I've let her do this in small spurts, and she has to stay in one spot. We laugh because Meg is practically half Elsa's size.
Last but not least, I am posting my favorite Valentine's present that I recieved from Chris this year.
I loved the flowers and treats, but I absolutely love these shoes that he got me. I don't get new shoes very often. In fact it has been 4 years since I bought my last pair of church shoes (except for the cheap slip on shoes while I was pregnant). I couldn't believe they had these in my size :)

Okay this is really the last.............

Myles wanted to make dessert one night. He asked for bananas and chocolate chips from the store and made chocolate dipped bananas.

And now I think I am officially caught up!

Just a few pictures

Aeva worked with Chris on making this mask/helmet. It's from the superhero character, Nova.
They had fun making it.

Remember the last post? Elsa got her glasses.

Well after a day of having them they disappeared. For the next four days we tore the house apart looking for them. We looked high and low.............everywhere we could think of. I had given up by Saturday morning. I was beginning to think we had a little gremlin that likes to make things disappear because I have a pair of glasses that have been missing for a year, and my wedding ring has gone missing as well :(  Saturday night I happened to get some clothes out of one of my drawers, and there they were. We aren't exactly sure how the glasses got there..............as they were buried at the bottom, but we sure are glad they were found.

Rhaevyn decided she wanted to make a cheesecake. We borrowed a spring pan and voila...........
it turned out pretty scrumptious for her first try.

And I can't do a post without a picture or two of little Miss Meg.
She'll be two months old next week. Unbelievable! It never ceases to amaze me how fast time goes. I'm never quite prepared for it.

We love how she is holding her hands. Sometimes she has them folded. It makes us giggle.

Got Glasses

Elsa had another eye appointment to see if her eyes got better, worse, or stayed the same.
They are just a tad worse, so the eye doctor decided to go ahead and have her get glasses.
She picked out a black and pink Barbie pair and is excited to wear them all the time..........I hope that enthusiasm continues.

Hello There

This past week was a week of baking.
Rhaevyn schooled Aeva in the art of making soft pretzels.
They turned out delicious! Myles sure enjoyed eating one.

Rhaevyn came home from Seminary on Monday morning and decided she was going to try making crepes. For her first try she did an excellent job. She took pictures. She says she needs to work on presentation, but I think they look as yummy as they tasted.

I made banana pudding. I remember my mom making this yummy dessert when I was little, and I don't think I've had it since then. I've told the kids about how much I loved eating it when I was little and finally decided to make some so they could try it. Myles said I made it look beautiful, and they all thought it was very tasty.

We had an indoor picnic this past week thanks to Elsa. On the menu: apples and peanut butter, oranges, hot cocoa and Pirates Booty.

Even Meg joined us around the picnic blanket.

Rhaevyn loves to snuggle and nap with Meg.

I love this picture of Meg looking at Rhaevyn.

I somehow need to remember to get pictures of Meg with Aeva. Meg loves Aeva's hair and loves to stare up at Aeva's face. It's magical to watch.

Elsa with her "favorite little sister."

Elsa is such a good little helper. She loves to snap her clothes back together and put on fresh diapers.

Myles loves to carry Meg around, which we let him do just in the living room.
I think it makes him feel grown up.

Two pictures of our little dolly.

Our Little Nut"Meg" is One Month Old Today

None of us can believe little Miss Meg is one month already.
Sometimes I wish I could just have time stand still for a bit with all my sweet ones.
They just grow up before I'm ready.

Here are pictures of Rhaevyn, Elsa and Aeva each holding Meg.
I joke that I carreid her for nine months and gave birth to her, but I only I get to hold her when she needs to nurse.................otherwise she just gets passed from one sibling to the next.
I really am grateful how much they each love her. It is so wonderful to have such great helpers willing to hold her, rock her, and snuggle with her.
Rhaevyn is cute because every once in a while she'll ask if I want to hold Meg. She says "I know you don't get to hold her very often." Awww, my sweet Rhaevyn.

I don't have any pictures of me holding Meg. I am usually the one behind the camera.
Chris took this the other night. We were watching a show, and Meg was fussing. I put my nose to hers and my forehead to her forehead. Before I knew it we were both asleep.

Some sweet ladies at church got together and threw me a baby shower.............more of a surprise one.
It was so sweet. Meg got all decked out for the occaision and slept the entire time.

This is one of the gifts I got at the shower. Aeva's beehive counselor made it.
She is so talented.Rhaevyn wanted a picture of Meg riding it.

Meg's Blessing Day

Today was Meg's blessing day. We decided not to wait to long, as we wanted
to make sure she would still fit into her dress.

I had lots of helpers wanting to help get her dressed before church.
This was her before church.................

I made sure she had a full tummy before we left, and she slept though her blessing........
not a peep or cry :)

Our sweet friends, the Barnes's, came to help bless her.

And Chris's good friend, Byron came too.

Here are a few more pictures of our little sweetie pie.

And just a few other things that have been going on around here:

Rhaevyn went to the New Year's Eve youth dance and wanted Chris to go with her so she could dance with her daddy.

Aeva had her very first paying babysitting job that night and really enjoyed it.

All the kids have gotten a date this last month with Chris.

Rhaevyn and Aeva got sort of a suprise date with their dad to see the Hobbit.
They were on cloud nine.

Elsa went on a date to find a tea cup. We have one cup and saucer from our Correll type dishware, and Elsa wants it for every meal. This is what they found at the Goodwill.
It is so dainty, and Elsa loves it.

Myles went out to the Lego Store with Chris and then to Limeberry (our local frozen yogurt place) for his reward of guessing Meg's birth weight. He guessed it exactly. Way to go, Myles!

Rhaevyn got her treat yesterday, as she had changed when she thought Meg would be born about a week before the 13th....................and she guessed Meg would be born on the 13th.

Tomorrow we return to reality............Chris goes back to work, Rhaevyn starts up Seminary again, and the kids return to doing schoolwork. I am sure it will prove to be an interesting week.
