Christmas is coming!!!

Christmas is coming and the calendar is filling up fast, as is the "to do" list before the 24th!

One of those "to dos" is Christmas cards and pictures for the Christmas cards. I always have high hopes that we will get some really nice family pictures done, or that I can manage to take some nice pictures on my own with all the pretty Pacific Northwest scenery for the backdrop. Alas, I don't think it is going to happen this year again. I tried doing some pictures as we left for church which always means someone is missing from the family picture, or we have to do separate pictures for Chris and I and then the kids. I only got one that turned out semi decent of the kids.
I may have to try this week to get a good one.

Rhaevyn took some of Chris and I, and we spent most of the time laughing while she took the pictures.

Friday night was date night to get milk, bread, and some veggies. We stopped at Goodwill too because I am on the hunt for the last thing I need to make Aeva's birthday present complete. I found these shoes. They are what the Korean women wear with their traditional Hanbok dress. I wish they had been Rhaevyn's size, but alas they were a bit small.

Myles spent part of Saturday with Sister Lee and made this cute gnome. He put it next to the Christmas gnome I have.

I keep seeing all these ladies with cute Christmas nails. I decided that I wanted cute Christmas nails and opted for the more thrifty version.......$5 at Walmart :) I love them!

 Just Molly and Me......

 Molly by the Christmas tree......
I made some armadillo eggs this week. They are super yummy..........
jalapenos, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and bacon.

Myles made paper snakes this week for himself and Meg:

Aeva went ice skating with the Laurel class yesterday (Saturday), and Rhaevyn was invited to go too. They had so much fun. Rhaevyn was dropped off at home after three hours of skating and Aeva went to hang out with the other Laurels to watch The Little Mermaid and eat some pizza.

Next Sunday we will just be meeting for one hour because the boundaries for our ward are being changed again. It will be interesting to see what changes await.

I've got my schedule all written down and posted on the wall so I don't forget anything this week...........finals, doctor appointments, cello lesson, Scouts, Activity Days, Mutual, a birthday, ward Christmas party, Rhaevyn's orchestra Christmas performance, and Myles's cello recital. It's going to be a busy, but fun, week!!

Elsa was so cute tonight. She went into my room while I was making dinner and made sure my bed was turned down and laid out my pajamas and slippers. I love that girl's heart!
After dinner Elsa and I put on some jazzy Christmas music while I brushed and flossed her teeth, and then she and I danced around the kitchen.

Wishing you all a very merry week!

Welcome December

 It's that time of year.....................
time for pumpkin smoothies!!!!
The kids always get excited when I make them pumpkin smoothies.

I made a special one just for me too :) Pretty tasty, but not as delicious as the kids'.

Aeva, Meg, and I got haircuts on Tuesday.
Aeva was really excited about getting her hair cut. She had wanted to grow her hair long, and it had gotten to her shoulders, but she then realized why she doesn't usually have long hair. She doesn't like the feel of it on her neck. She's like a new person!

She loves her short hair, and it really does suite her face.
Meg's curls are bouncing back with the shorter cut and layers. Our vacuum got very clogged with all of Aeva's hair.

The little girls and I took Rhaevyn to her music class last Friday and waited at Officer's Row until her class was over. Elsa had fun putting lip gloss on Meg.

The kids have had fun making various crafts, but this is the only one I remembered to get some pictures of.

Elsa decided she wanted to do her own version......

A surprise package arrived in the mail yesterday. The Mitchell's sent us some handmade Christmas ornaments. They are so super cute and everyone couldn't wait to put them on the tree.
They also sent an advent calendar consisting of cards with various questions on them which have already led to some great conversations around the dinner table.

Rhaevyn purchased her very own, and first, phone. So exciting!!! It came yesterday too :)

Myles thought the occasion needed to be documented.

The kids are counting down the days until their break from seminary, college classes, and school work. I can't wait to sleep in a bit too and not picking up Aeva from early morning seminary.

No more family emergency flip phone for her. That will now go to Aeva. Aeva drew Rhaevyn a picture for her phone cover and one to use as a background for her phone.

  silly girl!

This past week we've been having fun learning about chocolate, the wind, Siamese carp, daylight savings, what a harvest moon is and why it's special when it occurs in October, and iguanas. It has been pretty chilly this week. Myles is happy that it is cold enough in the mornings  that his ice scraping skills have been needed. He's keeping track of how much money I owe him. Speaking of Myles, he lost three teeth in one week, and his cello recital is coming up next week. Rhaevyn's orchestra performance is next week as well. The calendar is filling up with all the fun things of the Christmas season already. We hope that all of you have a very wonderful and blessed December!
