Got Milkshake?

For the kid in all of us
milk's 9 essential nutrients for active bodies
plus the sugar from the ice cream that went into the milkshake
gives kids all the energy they need to run circles around mom.
Not drinking the milkshake?
Now that would be languorous
.

On Tuesday,
I got out the big roll of paper so that Myles could have some fun time painting.

The girls decided to join in the fun.

The masterpiece.

On Wednesday,
Aeva decorated a cake at Activity Days. She was kind enough to share it with all of us. It was very tasty.

On Thursday,
we decided to make muffins. Aeva made sour cream blueberry muffins, and Myles helped to make pumpkin muffins.

Today,
Rhaevyn was studying Romare Bearden for art. This was her art project.

After making that one, she decided to try and make a collage using me as the subject.

Myles didn't want to miss out on gluing magazine cutouts to paper.
Most of the glue went on the top of the pictures. He is too funny.

I just love little kid language and how they say certain words.
I captured some of Myles' funny pronunciations on video.

The kids love when I put new sheets on my bed because that means jumping into the sheets.
I remember doing this when I was a kid. Does a person ever outgrow thinking that is so much fun?
If given the opportunity, I would probably still do it. But I'd have to have a bigger bed.

Happy Mother's Day!

Love and hugs to our moms, grandmothers and aunties this Mother's Day.
I am so thankful to be a mom. I truly feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a mom to my sweet, energetic, entertaining and wonderful children. I can't imagine a better calling in life. I absolutely cherish it.

I've had a wonderful Mother's day so far.
Myles and Aeva helped me clean out the van yesterday.

Chris put together the stroller last night at Midnight.

Short story: We had a stroller that we purchased just before Elsa was born. Chris put it together about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, when he got it all put together, I realized that the seat didn't recline all the way. I am kind of a stickler about that. I was so upset with myself that I had purchased a stroller without making sure it would fully recline. I thought to myself "how could I have done that?" Then I thought again. It was pretty obvious how that happened. After going to three stores, spending about four hours looking for a stroller that didn't cost an arm and a leg and folded up easily and compactly, being eight months pregnant, tired, starving and having a full bladder.....I knew how I had made that mistake. I remember Chris reassuring me that I didn't have to just buy the one we bought. We could wait, but no, I decided we couldn't.
Can I just say I am married to an awesome man because without complaint he took the whole stroller apart and packed it up all nice and neat to be taken back to the store so that I could purchase a stroller that does fully recline. I love you, dear!

He also washed my van for me yesterday.

And then he put my birthday present on the van from my friend, Sam.

The girls sang me my new favorite Primary song.

And Elsa, well, she's just a love bug.....she's a gift in and of herself.

This past week I went through Myles' clothes . He has grown out of all his 2T and some 3T. I got out the next bag of hand-me-downs. I think he thought he was in heaven because there were all these new clothes to wear. He was especially excited about the three pairs of Lightning McQueen pajamas and the buzz Lightyear shirt. He has been wanting to wear this Hawaiian outfit all week long.
On Friday he decided he needed to find it and change into it before going outside to play and enjoy the sunshine. When I walked in his room this is what I found.

Elsa is a month old already. That went by way too fast. I can't believe it has really been a whole month since she was born.
I've already had to pack away some of her clothes. She is really starting to fill out and is even getting rolls on her thighs. I just love it! I caught a smile on camera. She always smiles when she is dreaming in her sleep. She cracks me up because she is just like Myles and often sleeps/dreams with her eyes open.

I rearranged the girls school schedule for the remainder of the school year. They will be doing a majority of their work on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This way I have lots of extra time on Tuesdays and Thursday just for Myles. We tried it out this week, and I think he and I were a lot happier. We got to spend lots of time reading and playing together.

Here is Rhaevyn doing what she loves best.......holding Elsa.

Aeva and I spent some time making silly faces.

The End.

Special

So, I wrote about the most exciting part of my day yesterday.
But, the most special part of my birthday was when Myles brought this home for me.
He and Chris had some guy time last night. They went to pick up milk and eggs at the store. When they came back, Myles came in yelling "I got something for your birthday, mom!"
He helped pick this balloon out.

Too Sweet!

Happy Birthday To Me!

My excitement for the day was getting a new drivers license.
I think the picture actually turned out good this time.
Aeva told me not to worry. That I certainly would not look 36.......I'd still look 35.
I had to laugh.
Thanks to all my sweet friends and family members who wished me wonderful birthday wishes today.

Blessing Day

Today was Elsa's Blessing Day at church. She was such a well behaved little lady. She didn't cry or fuss. In fact she slept almost three hours. We took a few pictures when we got home. Boy, it sure is hard to get two adults, three children and one infant to all smile at the same time, look in the direction of the camera and not blink. Okay, well, I wasn't worried about getting Elsa to smile, I was just trying to get the pictures taken before she got too upset.
